Default ABS / traction control light and no cruise control.

2012 chrysler conv touring. I took my car in to a local shop and they insisted they had to change out the CV axles in order to correct the problem with ABS and the traction control. He pointed to all the rust around the Hub of the CV axle and said when they go to change the sensor that typically a lot of corrosion and rust from the axle gets onto the sensors because they're magnets. I didn't understand any of what he was saying but I have a feeling I got ripped off. They ended up changing out my CV axles which look perfectly fine because I did request that they give me the parts, and according to the receipt they installed ABS sensors on both sides. Does anyone know if this could possibly be accurate or bad?
