Bad ignition switch and broken anti-theft module

Recently, my ignition switch seized up with a bad tumbler requiring replacement. Unfortunately, when I removed the ignition, I broke the collar of the immobilizer which encircles the ignition. Now the car starts, runs 2 seconds and dies. I know what I did.

Here's my question, can I buy a junkyard steering column, grab the immobilizer module and swap the internals with mine to get going again? If not, I'm open to suggestions. I really want to avoid the local dealer, if possible.

Thanks in advance for any help.
