bypassing factory infinity system
i have a 2000 sebring with a factory infinity system. i am trying to install an aftermarket radio, but am unsure how to get around the factory amp. i have been told by a few people that there is a remote turn on and a remote ground, but have not done the research since the12volt started charging. does anybody know how to get my aftermarket head unit up and running wothout running new speaker wires? thanks.

RE: bypassing factory infinity system
the pic i have attached is what u will need the main part to which u will want to make sure still has power when u install is what i have circled. Go to best buy or a car audio place and get an aftermarket install kit for like 20 bucks it will have the connectors that u plug right into the factory wires so that u dont cut them for later use and easy install. Match wires up with aftermarket plug and away u go. Still use factory amp different head unit. Now on the other hand if u want a new amp then no other choice but to rewire the whole system from each speaker to the amp.

RE: bypassing factory infinity system
i'm familiar with wiring up kits, i work at an audio shop, we just don't usually help people who have to bypass a factory amp. i hooked up the 12 volt trigger wire correctly from the new radio to the new harness, i just wasn't getting the amp to kick on. so i'll try 12 volts directly to the amp to see what happens. thanks again. i didn't use the power antenna wire accidentally instead of the remote turn on wire either, that is a common mistake.

RE: bypassing factory infinity system
i've got the remote turn on correct and still can't get the radio to work... do you have the diagrams to show me what wires come out of the factory amp to the speakers so that i can just splice around the amplifier? thanks.

RE: bypassing factory infinity system
the same pic i uploaded has the inputs and outputs to the amp u are looking for see above

RE: bypassing factory infinity system
the diagram does not show the outputs from the amplifier to the speakers. this diagram only shows the output from the head unit into the amplifier. do you have the diagram that shows the speaker level output of the amplifier? sorry to bother you again, thanks.
