Caliper Bolt positioning 97 Sebring

I disassembled the front brakes on my '97 Sebring 2dr coupe and set about replacing the calipers and hardware. During that repair I lost track of whether the brake caliper bolt with the rubber tip went in the top or bottom position.

Since that repair I've had occasional failed brake applications. They are random and infrequent. The only solution to the problem is to release and reapply pressure to the pedal.

So I am hoping that my problem and my stupidity are related, and can be resolved by getting an answer to the bolt position question.

Not that it will help you now, but this is a good lesson on why it's wise to work on one side at a time, so you can use the untouched side as a reference.

You might get an answer to your problem by talking to the guy behind the parts counter at your local dealership. He might have a parts diagram on his computer that would show which bolt goes where. If the Chrysler dealership doesn't have it, the Mitsubishi dealership might.

Failing that, you might want to visit the local junkyard and see what you can learn there.

It could be just a lubrication problem.
