Default Can I fit a bigger tire?

Wassup everyone I am new to the forum, and I am trying to find out if its possible for me to run a wider tire. I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring touring sedan, and I am currently running 225/45/18's. Is there anyway that I can go wider? Like 235/40/18 or 245/40/18? Any feedback is appreciated.

Clearances in the wheel well are very tight. It's very unlikely that you can get anything in there bigger than the stock size. Let me tell you a story. I have a 2001 Sebring. (Same configuration as your 2004.) When the previous owner changed the battery, he used a 1/2 inch socket on the 13mm bolt that holds the battery. I know that because he left the socket stuck to the head of the bolt. That socket lifted the fender liner enough to cause the liner to rub on the tire, wearing a big hole in the fender liner. There's simply no room to spare under there.

Thumbs up

I was afraid of that answer lol. Well I guess I will be sticking with my current tire size. Its a shame there doesn't seem to be many available mods for these cars. It really isn't a car that was meant to be modded much anyways to begin with. Thank you for taking the time to help me out dcotter0579. Its very much appreciated my man
