Default 1999 Sebring transmission problem

Hello.

My car runs fine most of the time however sometimes the check engine light will come on and then it will not shift. I can be in any gear and it will just stay in that gear until I stop and kill it which seems to reset it and it work fine. I will then drive for awhile and the check engine light goes off. It does it very sporadically and usually drives very good. I have had the codes checked when it was on and the codes are P034, p1776

Thanks

When was the last time you changed the fluid in the transmission? Most transmission problems can be related directly or indirectly to the fluid. It should be changed every 60,000 miles or so. Use only the fluid that Chrysler recommends for your car.

I changed the filter yesterday, and have a new input speed sensor to put it (just have to get a wrench big enough). I have driven it about 40 miles since changing the fluids and it hasn't done it again yet. I will drive it more today and let you know. thanks.

Just curious -- How many miles are on the vehicle?

Ok it hasn't done this since changing fluid and filter however if i get on the gas and make it go to a higher RPM before changing gears I hear a ssspppp coming from the transmission.
