Chrysler Sebring incomprehensible sound in the area of automatic transmission
Good day to all!
Just a couple of days ago there was such a problem. When the automatic transmission is in the parking mode, uniform loud spanking sounds are heard in the box area, the same sounds are heard when switching to neutral, but when the drive is turned on, the sounds are lost, but at the beginning of the movement they gradually begin to appear and the faster you move, the faster it starts to spank, The sound does not turn into a rattle. But when you move backwards, there are no sounds at all. The machine does not give any errors, the automatic gearbox works perfectly, no jerks in the switching are present. At the service station looked, but nothing so visually and did not find, they said it was necessary to shoot the automatic transmission, to disassemble everything. Could someone have encountered such a problem? Excuse me for my English |
What year and mileage is your Sebring? And where in the World are you located?
|
It’s 2004 year, 160000 miles. I located in Novosibirsk, it’s Russia, Siberia. |
Thanks, nice to know what is being asked about. My sounds like you surely would not want a hard breakdown out there in Siberia!
I would start by checking exhaust heat shields for looseness, then move to checking the front brakes out. At 14 years old you could have a bad motor/trans mount. |
