Question Click sound when I press brake when the gearbox is in park?

Dear all,

I own Chrysler Sebering 2009 model. I'm wondering if it is normal to hear a click sound out of my gearbox every time I push the brake while the gearbox is in park mode?

Thank you and best regards,

oneye

Yes it's normal. It's the shift interlock releasing.

oneye,

Yes, the shift interlock is designed so you have to press the brake pedal before you can take the vehicle out of park. It a safety issue so children or other passengers can not pull on the trans shifter and engage the vehicle into gear.
