Default Convertable top Replacement

2006 Sebring, rear window is cracked, thinking about getting a complete top for a salvage yard and swapping. What year span fits the 2006? Is the replacement bad to do

A top from 2001 through 2006 should fit fine. Removal and proper installation will not be easy. Installing the top is not all that difficult, but installing it well so it fits tight and without wrinkles is the challenge. Your best bet is to explore all possible options, including buying the replacement top and having it professionally installed. There are people who specialize in that kind of work, do it all day every day and do it very well and efficiently as a result. There are sites on the internet that sell tops and also provide installation instructions. You should look for those sites, study the instructions and decide if you and your toolbox are up to the task and go from there. You should visit a shop that installs tops and talk to them about whether they will install a top purchased elsewhere. Watch their work and see if you can pick up some pointers. Replacement windows can be purchased separately if you just want to fix that problem. Come back and tell us how it went and what recommendations you can give to others.

97 to 2006. There is little info on swapping, but I was going to swap my 2004 for a 98 top. The 98 was a high end brand new top. I was told that it was too much of a time span between which is not correct. Once you get all the bolts and stuff loose along the rear edges then the 4 mounting bolts to body are EXACTLY the same. Lift cylinders are the same as well. Changes thru the years were cosmetic more than structural. Replacing the rear window is a tad easier and might be the wiser choice, unless you have the skills or someone that can do the swap for you.
I did not get to finish my swap due to an illness and the donor car being salvaged!!

Take pictures and come back and tell it how it went. It's okay to brag a little.
