convertible hard top opening/closing problem

I have a Chrysler 200 convertible hard top 2011. Since one month, the hydraulic system for closing/opening the hard top works very bad.
the system is very noisy, very slow and often stops during the operation. My mechanic thinks it can be the pump which is defective but
I want to know if it can be repaired or it must be replaced (the cost of the pump is about $2000.00). Please let me know.
Thank you!

$2000 seems very high. Have you looked up the price on the internet or are you relying on the mechanic? Does the cost include labor? Are you capable of performing the replacement yourself? Since the car is drive-able, there's nothing stopping you from shopping around.
You might want to invest in a shop manual to study up on the repair to find out what exactly is involved. Then you can determine if you can replace it yourself or at least be able to discuss it knowledgeably with a mechanic.

The door closing system in my Chrysler 200 is giving me some problems, I purchased this car at 2007; I shouldn't be suffering the issues I'm having with this automobile, it's not making any sense to me! !!

The car is 11 going on 12 years old. It's going to have problems. If you ask a specific question you might get a specific answer.
