i wanted to know if i could run e85 in my 2001 sebring..because of gas prices i have really wanted to use it but not sure if i can? i have a 3.0 v6

All of the cars I've seen that allow E-85 are marked on the gas door or gas cap.

I do not believe you can run E85, safely, for very long anyway. But, more importantly, it is the wrong choice if you are trying to save money. It actually will cost you more to use E85 than regular unleaded fuel. The only real benefit of E85 is less polution (other than helping farmers, etc).

I agree that E85 is not a good fuel choice for now. I doubt it ever will be actually. It is untested and unproven by users, regardless of the media hype. Bio-Diesel might be ok for older or simpler engines, but I wouldn't trust it to one of the new ones.

there is some stuff out there about it and Being a tech first hand I can see on the scanner that U use more fuel when U have E85 then normal gas so if U use E85 even if it is cheaper there will be a point to which it will clost U more money to use it then reg gas.


On the scanner normal cars have a fuel trim of + - 7% with E85 it will peg out at +35% just to get the same air fuel mixture that normal gas uses.
