engine cranks quickly but takes several seconds

for some reason when i try to start the car for the first time of the day it takes about 4-5 seconds and fires up nicely, if i shut it off and try again it starts even faster but if i leave it for an hour or so it takes 4-5 seconds again even if its +20 c outside or -20. After driving it for long and starting it back up its really rough and idles around 300 rpm until i give it gas or shift than it goes back up to around 900.

the rpm sometimes goes wacky when i shift it from Drive/Reverse to Park after a long drive. The rpm will go up to 900 than down to 200 and repeat once or twice. the car idles very smooth at a really low 400rpm in park and at lights.

Car has an immobilzer installed, but i was thinking of doing the fuel filter, injector cleaning and plugs again, I'm positive the previous owner did them because of the NGK wires but not sure when.

any guesses?

Sounds like your fuel system is losing pressure while the car sits. If you turn the key on without cranking for those 4-5 seconds, you might get pressure to build. There could be an internal or external leak somewhere between the fuel pump in the fuel tank and the engine. If you are not seeing or smelling gas externally, then the problem is most likely internal to the fuel pump.
It might be worthwhile to connect a pressure tester to the system to monitor pressure after shutdown to confirm this suspicion.
In the '97 coupe, you can get to the fuel pump by removal of the back seat without removing the fuel tank.

is it under that little squarish plate with screws holding it down? i seen a black rubber hose and kind of played with it and pushed on it, now my car starts very quick and right away, don't know how i fixed it at all but lovin it :)

Sounds like you found the problem somehow. Congrats. You probably saved 400 bucks.
