Eratic Idle speed

'02 sebring lx 2.7litre.
Recently, the engine RPM increases gradually to around 14 grand as it comes up to operating temperature. Thereafter the RPM's return to normal. At all times the engine runs smoothly. The car has 120,000 km's or 73,000 miles. This car has always been well serviced at a chrysler dealership.
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a vacuum leak,it had a code but I could not read it.
I have the2.5 engine but again it revved higher than normal. It’s worth a little investigation.
My leak pretty mhe EGR metal tube located on the drivers side of engine , tube goes up from EGR valve toi think the throttle body area.

hey silver,do you hear a vac leak like john said? is engine light on? you might have an iac motor or even tps problem.but those would set the light off.and the tps would would cause trans shifting problems.moe
