Hard starting on cold mornings

04 Sebring 2.4 Cold morning(28 deg) just open door and reach in to start car and it starts, rumbles a little bit and stalls. Have to get in a push accelerator while cranking to get running. then runs and idles fine? Did the cycling of fuel pump the other morning and still didn't start right up.

Any codes? I wonder if the ambient air temp sensor is acting up.

No codes. Wandering if the car had a coolant temperature sensor or something like that. Old 89 Lebaron had CTS and it went bad and car ran super bad until replaced.

Even if I don't have the outside air temp readout, the ambient air temp sensor will still effect the running of engine?

The computer reads the ambient air temp to decide how rich the mixture needs to be, kind of like the old days when you had a choke to help start the car on cold mornings. If the temp gauge on the dash is working, then the coolant temperature sensor is ok. The gauge gets its input from that sensor.

1 above this morning and car wouldn't start, turned over ok but no fire. Ordered Factory OEM ambient temp. sensor last Monday so hope to get it today and replace it this weekend. Not suppose to be as cold tom. morning. Had Diesel plugged in and drove it to work.

Finally got the new Ambient Temp. Sensor. Installed it this evening. Very hard to get to. Took 6 clips off bottom of front facsia to get arm up behind grill to get to it. Hopefully it takes care of start up on cold mornings. Also got new PCV valve and installed it too.

Well 9 above this morning and no start. So stopped at Advance auto today after work and got coil(Borg Warner) Plug wires (Autolite) and Plugs (Champion copper). Car still won't start this evening so changed coil with flashlight. Car started and put in garage to change plugs and wires. Plugs were shot 59,800 miles. Seems to run fine.
