Default Headlights go out

Hello
I am new to this forum
I recently purchased a 2006 Sebring Limited Convertible. Tonight while driving with headlights in the auto position my headlights and dash lights went out. I pulled on the headlight stock (like I was engaging high beams) and the high beams would stay on as long as I held it. If I let go they would go out. I did this 2-3 times, same results then the headlights and dash lights came on as normal at that point I was home (thank goodness)! Any input would be greatly appreciated, Iwas unable to finf a relevant open thread. Thank you in advance.

It sounds like it could be the headlight switch.

you would be referring to the dashboard switch and not the steering column stock

I was thinking stock but I assumed that's where your light switch was.

Default Flu

My apologies to anyone who has read or replied to this question.
I have had the flu ( not Covid, seasonal) and have not been dealing with this or driving for the last 10 days.
