Default Heater blows Hot then Cool

Hello, I was wondering if anyone would know why the heater would blow hot air as I am driving, but once I stop for a period of time and the car idles it will blow cool air. The car blows the cool air until I press the gas or until I start driving again. Thanks.

Could this also be a sign that the coolant is getting old and needs a flush?

no coolant is designed to lower and make the boil point higher. the braking down of the coolant does not affect how well it will transfer heat to the cabin heater coil.. DO u have a 2.7 engine?

Ya its a 2.7L. I went into the dealership and they said it could be the heater core has some blockage and they said to do a flush and a back flush on the system.

That seems to be common on 2.7's. Mine does that a bit, but not that cold. Not worth the effort to flush yet.

So aslong as it seems to be a common problem I will probably just do the flush and see what happens
