Heater Temp goes to cold at stop

Hello, newbie here and just had a question..had the car since 05 its a 04 sebring 4 dr ...with a v6...now notice lately that when i come to a stop light or stop the car that the heater starts blowing out cold air...once i start moving again it gets back to temp...now i also noticed that it takes forever till the car gets warmed up till it blows cold..now i know it works off the engine temp but even if at a stop i put the car in neutrual and push the gas the air does not get hot till i start moving.

what can i check to find the problem?

Ya, and these engines never seem to warm up when idling. It never mattered on my 04 whether it warmed up for 2 minutes or 20, the temp guage wouldn't move until the car did. I just got an 08 with the same engine and it's not much better, but the cold idle runs up to 1500 rpm, so that helps a bit.
