Limited vs. Touring
 

Hello everyone! I'm in the market for a new car and my wife and I had looked at many and came to the decision that we like the new Sebrings. I actually hated the old style to be honest. Anyways this local dealership has thelimited and touring editions, both in the color we want, 08's, the limited is a V4 and the touring is a V6. Looking at the pics I see minor differences with the interior and exterior in terms of colors and such. My main concern is the MPG. Does the limited get more MPG over the touring due to it being a V4? Is there anything I should know about in terms of differences in features? Thanks!

I have an 08 Limited and it has the V-6 3.5 , the only engine tht the Limited comes with, the touring also has the V-6 2.7, go to the Chrysler site and you can compare them side by side. I don't know of any car that comes with a V-4

I'll have to agree with hardtop, somebody is blowin' smoke up yur butt on the "V-4" part.

Maybe they put V4 by mistake?

Also, should I be worried about Chrysler admist the bailouts? CNN also reported that it's predicted Chrysler won't survive 2009. Any buyer beware or remorse I should be worried about?

Only three engines are offered.

An Inline 4 cylinder used in the base model Sebrings.
A V-6 2.7L that has been the staple engine of the line since 2001.
A newly introduced V-6 3.5L that addresses the desire by many to have additional power available. Many times it's coupled to a new 6 speed transmission thanks to the influence provided by Daimler. ;)

The I4 and 2.7L V6 have similar power outputs but the fuel economy is not very different. The I4 has to work harder though to perform the same job as the 2.7L V6. The 3.5L V6 provides more "get up and go" but does have slightly lower mpg ratings.

In terms of warranties, yes it's something to be concerned about, BUT, on the other hand, the boys in the plants are pretty worried about their jobs these days and should realize that nothing but top-quality workmanship is good enough. And the discounts that they are giving are enough to buy a service plan or alternatively, to pay for a lot of repairs.

It was probably listed as V4 because it's a VVT-4 Variable Valve Timing-4.
The 2.7 is a nice engine. I tried one with the newer I4, and they were good for power on a 4 banger, but a little noisy. The 2.7 isn't as loud, but has the nice 60 degree V-6 sound. The 3.5 is just nuts unless you have the AWD like on the Dodge Avenger R/T.

Hi JStatus...I bought my wife an 08 Sebring (new) in Sept 08..we both love it but we had to take it back to the dealer twice for the same problem..they said it was a blocked sunroof drain plug..the driver side floor would get soaked whenever it is pouring rain or snowing..the car has 2600 miles on it..we are hoping they solved the problem..Good Luck
