Default Need help installing new door lock

Well someone tryed to steal my 2004 sebring with a screwdriver in the door lock and it's shot so I ordered one from the dealer and they said they will assemble the tumblers and make it fit my key. But I'm going to install it. When I take off the door panel what will I need to remove old lock? Just trying to see if I need a special tool? Thanks

The lock cylinder is held in place by a flat horseshoe-shaped clip that slides in. You should be able to slide it off with a screwdriver. If I were you, I'd invest in a set of plastic trim tools to help get the door trim panel off. That is going to be the big job here, and trim tools are worth their weight in gold to make the job easier and less destructive. They will set you back less than 10 bucks and be well worth it.

I picked up the new lock cylinder today and have the horseshoe shaped clip with it for an extra just in case I lose the old one when taking it off. I have a fiber stick that I'm going to use to take the door panel off with. I know what you mean about being a big job, if I don't do it right I'll break those little clips holding the panel on, or damage panel itself. I did it once before on my wifes Grand cherokee, changing the lock actuator. Thanks for your help!!!
