No Rear Defrost
My daughter reports that her rear defrost is not working on her 2001 sebring convert. I do not have an owners manual tocheck the fuse diagram/fuse. I suspect that this is on its own circuit as there are not any other associated electrical problems...that she is aware of. Can someone tell me the fuse location and short of that any other diagnosis??

RE: No Rear Defrost
What i would do would be to make sure that the rear defroster grid is all connected. a lot of the time the grid will lose some of the connection on it. just use a ohm meter and check resistance from one end to the other. Another problem i see is that the rear connectors fall off the window. In either case they make a glue that ou can use to fix it. its a specail glue that allows electricity to flow through it.

RE: No Rear Defrost
Fuse 6 controls the reardefogger, but it also controls the power mirrors, so if they work, it's not a problem with the fuse.
On mine, the connector fell off the glass on the right side. It is supposed to be held in place by a conductive epoxy. Maybe dodgetech knows for sure, but I think it's the same stuff you buy to repair a scratch in the grid. You gan get that stuff at any parts store. |

Another possible problem is that the relay (in the fuse box by the steering wheel) could be bad. If you press the button and the light comes on, it is not the relay. If the light on the button does not come on and the fuse is ok, then get a new relay. MRR |
RE: No Rear Defrost
Had this problem on my 2002 Convertible, tried the epoxy never held for long. Soldered the positive side (passeneger) after checking with meter. This was a permanent fix.
