Noises
 

I have a 2008 Touring convertible with an intermittant poping/banging noise that is similar to a tailpipe hitting the frame. It is more previlant when the engine is warm, but will also act up when the engine (2.7) is cold. This has been happening for three years, and does not seem to be getting any worse. Any ideas?

It's almost impossible to diagnose "funny noises" via long distance, but it might help a little if you included some more information as to when you hear the noise, like traveling slowly or fast, going over bumps, moving or stopped, engine running or not, and where the noise is coming from, left side, front, back, under the car.
If it's predictable, try listening for it with the windows open while driving next to a wall or other reflective surface (even a tall curb will bounce an echo) to help localize it.
You might try crawling under the car an looking for loose components. If you don't have a means of lifting the car safely, you can always drive your right- or left-side wheels onto a tall curb and get under that way.

Certainly difficult to diagnose a noise without knowing Where the noise is emitted from, however there is a TSB that May apply to your concern:

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vehicle operator may complain of a rattle, clunking or clicking sound heard from the rear of the vehicle while driving.

This bulletin involves checking for the source of the sound in the rear of the vehicle and if necessary, replacing the rear shocks with ones that include revised tuning, and upper mounting bushings with revised hardness.

DIAGNOSIS:
Verify that all rear suspension components (stabilizer bars, toe links, trailing arms, control arms, cross member, etc.) are tight. Ensure the rear deck lid striker is properly adjusted. If nothing is found to be loose or out of adjustment, perform the Repair.
