:-( problem

hey everyone im new to this forum thing but was told it may be of great help. im nhaving an issue with my2004 sebring. bare with me its a long story. i bought a new battery for the car because it seemed the old one was no longer good..car started again once i installed the new batt. then 3 days later im working on it with the radio on then the radio cuts out on me...30 mins later the radio comes back on but the car doesnt start, making a clicking sound. this is the same thing that happened with the original battery. i did the test of removing the positive coil from battery to see if car would stay on the first time and it did which lead me to believe it wasnt the alternator, but now im just confused as to what it may be, especially since things cut on and off as they please. if you can help i would surely appreciate and need it.

Check to see if you have a current drain somewhere due to a partial short. With everything off, the current drain should be on the order of about 0.050 amps or less. This is for the clock and keyless entry receiver. If it's more than that, you may have a short somewhere draining your battery. Pull fuses one at a time to isolate the circuit, then check the bad circuit carefully to find the fault.
In order to not confuse your engine computer and surge your ammeter, keep the battery connected electrically through the ammeter while you disconnect it mechanically for the current test.

thank you very much for that dcotter0579, but im a little lost as to your reference to checking the current drain, where and how can i do this or is it something a mechanic should do?

i realize now what you mean, im going to try doing that later this evening hopefully i find the issue, of the top of my head i have a feeling it may be the radio since thats the first to go whenever that issue occurs, thanks again.
