Problem with bolt on 02 sebring 2.7 convertible control arm

Changing out the lower control arms on 02 sebring limited. got the passenger out but on the drivers side I have one horizontal bolt that is loose but hitting the transmission and wont let it come out to free the bushing for the control arm. Here is a link to show the problem, It is in spanish but doesn't explain how to fix it. does anyone know what has to be done to get the bolt out?

Have you tried unfastening the engine mount bolts and lifting the engine/transmission enough to get clearance?

I have not tried that. do you know how many i will have to unfasten? I was gonna put a jack under transmission and at least take that mount out. Is it not feasible to lower subframe? hated messing with trans and engine.

fyi, I had to loosen motor mount and jack up tranny about an inch, then had to lower subframe about a half inch, and finally used dremel to notch out a bit of the bolt flange and voila. I don't know if it was text book, but it got the job done.

Good work. Thanks for coming back and sharing your success.

This car is not luxury by any means!
I have owned Sebring 2002 Convertible and changed the oil religiously about every 3000 miles, changed the tranny fluid, and done other preventative maintenance as suggested.

theres a engine mount between the engine and firewall, you have to remove the 1 bolt that will let you jack the engine up so you can remove the bolt, had to do it on my 2006 sebring, it's not a fun one to do
