Programming RKE
I just bought a factory RKE remote for my 98 Sebring and need to know how to program it. If all possible, I want to stay away from the dealer. Their min. service charge is $70.

RE: Programming RKE
RKE = Remote Keyless Entry.
I bought a remote for my 96 from ThePartsYouNeed.com and it came with free programming instructions. Here's their listing for the 98 Coupe: https://www.thepartsyouneed.com/disp...?productId=587 And 98 Convertible: https://www.thepartsyouneed.com/disp...?productId=826 |
RE: Programming RKE

RE: Programming RKE
i was told min service charge is like $60. but, i found out that the dealer sold me a remote for a convertible instead of for my coupe. i dont think they will take it back but my grandpa knows upper management so ill see.

RE: Programming RKE
yes the min service charge to check out a problem is 1 hour or 60.00 to 80.00 depends but when you already have the problem solved ie program rke they should not charge you 1 hour if they do find another dealer they are ripping you off. It actually only takes like 5 min to do if that. sometimes our ass. manager in servie does it for free (on a good day) we in the parts dept have done 1 or two ourselfes but that is rare we got like 4 ex-managers in the dept and then its me. 8 1/2 years in and still on the bottom looking up urghh
