Replacing Rotors and Pads first time question
Hi All,
New Sebring shade tree mechanic here. I have a 2008 Sebring 2.4L with front wheel disk brakes. My question refers to the front axle only. I've bought my parts and a manual, and done the reading. Before I start on the work (I've never done rotors or pads before) Can anyone point out anytips or tricks or 'what out fors' for me? Looking at the book, it looks like I will need a c-clamp and a block of wood along with something to depress the brake pedal one inch the entire time I am working on this. What unusual tools or parts should I have on hand before I start yanking stuff off and can't drive to the store to get them? Are there any good you tube video's, or user made photo tutorials for this that anyone knows of? No tip will be thought of as 'too basic' it's all new to me, and I assure you, I haven't thought of it. I just have normal sockets, wrenches and screw drivers, nothing fancy. I have never done this before. Thank you anyone who will reply. -= Bruce D. Meyer |
remove caliper bolts remove caliper use c clamp depress caliper piston fully into caliper.
Do not press on brake pedal or release the bleeder valve not necessary Remove the bolts holding the caliper bracket might need a hammer to looses rotor up reinstall in reverse. . |
Thank you Kevin. I'll be hitting it early int he AM.
