tach and odometer problem

Hi all,
I have another minor issue.
97 Sebring convertible 2.5L
Tachometer and Odometer are inop most of the time. They will both start working at the same time while driving for no apparent reason. Does not seem to be related to length of time, engine temp or bumps.
Anyone have any ideas or experience with this issue?

Thanks
