Temperature controls not working

Hey, I have an interesting problem I was hoping someone here could help me with. If the fan is blowing hot air, and I turn the knob to cold, it will still blow hot. The only way to make it blow cold is to turn the other knob to defrost and back to whatever setting. Then it's stuck on cold. In order to make it blow hot again, I have to turn it back to defrost and back.

I have the same exact problem! I posted about it and one person's reply was the wires are no longer soldered together correctly. Just pop the dash off and you can look behind the knobs at the white connector. I hope this helps I still haven't looked at mine yet.

This could also possibly be a bad Blower Motor Resistor. Check that as well.

I would love to hear that Explanation.....:):)

Anyway......You have a classic case of Broken Door Syndrome. The Pivot Develops a crack, and the motor "Over travels"...The only way to bring it back is to reverse direction.....

Technically, It really has Nothing to do with HOT/COLD....but rather the Overlap of the mode doors...Typically, Atleast from the ones Ive seen...its the defroster door that causes all the issues.

Now the bad news, Remove the dash , remove the heater box, dissassemble it, and find your broken door.

No other way around it.
