Towing a motorcycle

I have a 2006 Sebring Touring 2.7L. Is it reasonable to expect to be able to tow a 450 pound motorcycle? The owners' manual says towing capacity is 1000 pounds, but I thought I'd get the real experts' opinions before investing in a hitch and trailer.

Thanks for your help.

If the rated towing capacity is 1000 pounds, then yes the car can handle it. Pay attention to the trailer weight and the total weight of the entire rig including vehicle, passengers, baggage, fuel, trailer and trailer load. Don't exceed the recommendations in the owners manual because the vehicle's brakes will need to be able to handle all of it.

OK, thanks for the reply. I will be well under 1000lbs, even considering the trailer, my own weight, and cargo.

Any recommendations on a hitch? A quick google search turned up this: Curt CLASS III Hitch RECEIVERS - JCWhitney
