Transmission problem

Hi. I have a 98 Stratus. When the temerature is below zero and the car has been parked over night, the transmission (Automatic) doesnt function. Not forward not back. When the motor has been running for some ten minutes, the problem is gone. Can it just be a need for changing the oil? Sorry for mypoor English. I´m an old Swede you know.

RE: Transmission problem

Changing the transmission fluid would be a very good place to start. Automatic transmissions are very dependent on good fluid characteristics, and as it ages, the viscosity and shear propertieschange.
