RE: trany shifting problems with 01 sebring

I just went through some big tranny issue with my 01, also. I'm not sure if your symptoms are like mine were, but I had a reallyhard awful sounding downshift from 2nd down to 1st. I had alot of gear slipping, especially when first starting the car up. I came home one day after driving a mile home in 1st gear. It looked like it finally crapped out for good. I checked the fluid and DRY!!! I ended up with a car that didn't start one morning and I had it towed to a dealer out of desperation. Turns out I could have done the stuff myself. I needed a trans solenoid and a tranny hose, they flushed and filled the trans. I was so relieved that it wasn't the whole trans. Anyway, the car has been fine ever since.
