Very High Idle on my 98 Sebring LXI!!!

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and hoping I can get my problem fixed. I have a 1998 Sebring LXI V6 and it has about 260,000 miles on it. My car would not start after washing it one day. So I replaced things that needed replacing anyway. I put in new plugs, wires, distributor, crank sensor, fuel pump and filter. After putting everything in, I started it and the car immediately idled or raced up to 3400 rpms and would not go down. I got no MILs except for items that were mistakenly left disconnected. Even after connecting and resetting PCM; the car still races at 3400 rpms....can I get some Ideas to get my engine running correctly again?

Lesson learned never wash your engine water and computer/sensor dont like water.

Yeah...I get that! I didn't wash the engine..just the car...maybe it was a coincidence that it just happen to conk out after I washed it and pulled it into my garage and then..Wham--Crank and no start condition....But I still need some suggestions to my problem...I got it started, but with way high rpms....what can I do?

Usually, a high idle is the result of a vacuum leak somewhere, but there are other causes. Try searching the forum here for that problem, as it has been discussed on several occasions.
