will these tires fit my rims ?
 

Am new to the forum and had a question about my wife's 1999 Sebring JXI.
It has the 16 inch aluminum wheels and are standard Chysler wheels. I have been looking on various web sites for new tires and most but not all list 215-55-16 as being the replacement tire for this car. My question is: could a 215-60-16 tire fit on these rims ? There is a little difference in price between these two sizes per tire and am looking for a tire deal for a car with 168,000 miles. Thanks.

The '55' and '60' represent the percentage of the width that is the height. Thus, the 55 will be a little lower compared to the 60. If the properaspect ratiotire for the car is 60, then you should use them. The 55's will cause your speedo and odo to be a tiny bit off.
Don't put a 55 on one side with a 60 on the other. You'd probably be safe having 55's on one axle and 60's on the other, but it would be best to have them all the same for proper ride height and handling.

In the drivers door there should be a sticker telling you what 2 sizes of tires the car can use depending on the trim level, (JXI's have 16 wheels, some chrome others polished)
Recently i had 4 tires put in Costco and they gave the car a little improvement on ride quality their brand is

p.s: Have the tires filled with nitrogen, it lasts longer than air so you wont be bending down to check tire pressures that often.
