Wobbly Under Driving, Shaking while Braking ?

My moms 2005 Sebring has a wobble sound when accelerating, and heavy shaking while braking.

This is comming from her front passenger area. I removed the tire and did a quick visual inspection and nothing was really torn or ripped.

BUT, the rotor did have alot of left to right play. I took my fingers and was able to jiggle / move it a pretty good amount.

I was going to try and tighten down the axle bolt but I didn't have anything that big to tighten ii down with.

Any other things I can try before taking it in to a mechanic ?

Thanks!

The "shaking while braking" problem is almost certainly warped rotors. It happens. Replace the rotors and that problem will go away. Don't panic because the rotors can be wiggled. The problem is NOT a loose axle nut. The rotors are held in place by the wheel nuts, which you removed to look at the brake. With the lug nuts off, the rotor is supposed to be loose.

The "wobble sound" could be worn drive axles, or could be loose tie rod ends, or some other bushing worn out in the front suspension. It's pretty hard to diagnose something like that over the internet.
