"Kicker" sub woofer delaying my SRT8, anyone have the inside?
 

My car has been on order since Dec, two have shipped to my dealer, but they tell me the car is backordered due to ta delay with the subwoofer. They dont provide any more detail than that.

Does anyone know if this is for real, and when the cars maybe ready to go?

i would really throw a fit about this one...tell them to find it someone else and put it in...when i worked for dodge, we had a similar issue with an SRT4, and the dealership sent the car to a local stereo shop and had an equivalent sub installed.

well first of all your dealer lied to you if they said you had an order placed in December. Chrysler did not accept any orders until January 4th, 2005. Then all the "LX" platform orders that were not to "D" status about 3 weeks later were rolled in to '06 orders ( i think on Jan 23 but i'm not sure on the exact date).

Yes there was an issue with the Kicker, but could also be due to your dealer not having allocation for this vehicle. Just because they order one does not mean they will get it. My dad has been waiting since January on his and it just now (August 8) is built and on a train. The reason was the dealer only had allocation for one, they had to sell it before they could get #2, etc.... but they were up front about this situation. It's on it's way now, including the kicker sound system!
