1999 Chrysler 300 going into limp mode

I have a 1999 Chrysler 300 that keeps going into limp mode. I had the codes pulled(dont remember what they were right now) but they indicated it was a problem with the input speed sensor. I replaced input and output sensor. The problem went away for a couple of days then returned. I have a friend who is a mechanic, but doesn't do much on transmissions. He suggested replacing the transmission control module so I had him do that for me. Still the same problem. Codes still indicated input speed sensor so I replaced again just in case I got a bad one the first time. Again the problem went away for a day or two but then started again. I have noticed that if I don't drive the car for a couple of days then drive it again that it will shift just fine for about the first day then start going into limp mode again. When it starts doing it, it can be in limp mode then I stop at a light and take off and sometimes it will start shifting ok again. But most of the time it stays in limp. Seems like some kind of electrical problem to me, because when it shifts the mechanics of it seem to be working fine. Just don't know where to look from here. Looking for any ideas or suggestions that can help. Don't really have the cash to take it into a garage right now. Thanks for any input
