2000 300M A/C, heater display. Help Please
 

Greetings all. This is my first post, as have just purchased a 2000 300M. Iy has 143400Km on it and is great shape for my first car.
my issue is that the other day I went to turn on the AC and the display was working, then it stopped. next day it would come on after pressing a couple of button. (it has the automatic climate control). Now the disply will no longer come on.
The AC and heat are working fine and the blower is working great to. All vents are functioning as well.
I also just notinced that the little light in the ash tray is out.
I looked in the fuse box under the hood and noticed that there are a few fuse spots that do not have fuses in them??? Should they all have fuses in them???
If you could give me some advice on this issue since I am not very car friendly just yet.I can add a picture later once i find my camera if that would help.

Thank you for the advice. But do question why should this be replace if it still working and only the display is not working? Is there or have there been any issue with these in the past and is there any trouble shooting to be done to make sure it does not happen again to a new unit ie. what caused the display to go in the first place???

Plus if the unit is replaced will the accessory outlet work again?
Thanks again for your advice I will have to call the dealership on Monday to get a price on a new unit. Does it matter which year of 300M to use ie 2000 through 2004 or are they year specific. (have improvments been made to different years so this will not go again.

Replace the head unit. Don't get a used one or you'll be back right where you are now in a short time. Price at your local dealer then go here
