2012 300 Limited Owner-5 yr Update
I am nearing the 5th anniversary since purchasing my 2012 300 Limited with the V6 and 8 speed automatic transmission. I liked the redesign and believe you got a lot of luxury in a full size sedan for the price.
Have about 52k relatively trouble-free miles. Only has been in the shop for a couple recalls, a warranty repair, and normal maintenance. I do my own oil changes. Gas mileage has been very good, but the MPG calculator overstates the real economy by 1-2 MPG when I measure actual miles and gallons put in the tank (fillup to fillup.) The 8-speed auto is smooth, but initially had to be reprogrammed (software updated) because it was upshifting too soon, making the engine lug and vibrate. Of course, lost a couple MPG after that! The cup holder heater/cooling unit had to be replaced under warranty due to a noisy fan. Still waiting to have the airbag recall completed. Replaced the OEM Firestones with Michelins, and now the car rides very smoothly. I had no issues with the Firestones, but for a small amount more, the Michelins are a far better tire. I purchased extended warranty coverage because I buy and hold my cars for a long time and was worried about the long term durability of the new transmission and all the electronics, but have not needed it. Keeping my fingers crossed. In sum, I have been a very satisfied owner :) and look forward to hearing other owners' experiences. |

I also have a 2012 300. Mine is a C hemi with every option I can think of. At this point my experience mirrors yours except I only have 31k on the car.
The Firestones did well but I went to BF Goodrich at 28k because they were the latest hot item at TireRack. I did have the Adaptive Cruse Control switch cluster replaced under warranty. The car is smooth and comfortable with power and handling capabilities way beyond what one expects. I would buy another 300 in a heart beat. Great value although competition interiors are starting to pull away from the Chrysler line. |
I have an '08 300C all wheel drive. Love the car but have became a bit disenchanted because of a failed integrated power module.
Having friends in the business helped keep the repair tab to under $1500, but for those not so lucky, the tab can go a grand higher. My research indicated this is a known and common problem over several years and many vehicles in Chryslers lineup. My only worry now is reoccurring problems with the new module or other electronics in the car. Eventually I want to find a newer one (after the '11 restyle) with a hemi and AWD but I worry about the reliability of the electronics in those too. |
