3.5 timing belt.
 

Why does this engine use a timing belt instead of chain? It's rediculous that any car company uses these things. Who wants a major cost when a car has 100,000 or so miles on it? What a crappy design.

Not at all. That's one of the disappointing things. Even the foriegn cars are getting away from belts. I don't know about the Jap cars, but all Hyundais are chains now. I didn't know the 3.5 had a belt. I may not have bought it. It's a really nice car but this just makes no sense.
