300c 2005 ESP/BAS Problem
 

First of all, hello to all, very glad to have found you.

Need some help please, 2k miles on my 05 300c and back to the Dealership today for the third time. Is anyone else having trouble with their ESP/BAS system or warning light on dash? Dealer has replaced a steering column sensor and that was not it. Now they are replacing an antilock brake module or something like that. Just feels like they really don’t have a clue.

Also had to replace 2 passenger side tires at 1k miles. It took them a very long time to find the almost un-noticeable pin holes in the tread of each tire, they were only loosing 1psi for every three hours. I don’t think I have any enemies, yet,[8D] probably just very bad luck.

I would love to hear anyone else’s ideas about this.

we had a problem very close to that one and it took two techs and a couple of sensore and modules to fix it it did not help that one of them put athe airbag module in with a pin out of place they tested a few diffent parts but finally got it right.

dont be discouraged about it they are most likely not bad techs they just have to go by the book or chrysler will not pay for the parts and labor the dealer would have to eat it and trust me they eat alot already so if it keeps up talk to the service manager nicely and just voice your concern about having to bring it back for the same problem over and over again. They can be really nice people if your nice to them as well.
its a good care with very few problems it just sucks you got a bad part on your good car is all

Update to original post…

1. Steering column sensor replaced, did not fix problem.
2. Antilock brake module replaced, did not fix problem.
3. Dealership is calling in Chrysler engineer to effect solution.

Everyone at the dealership has been great so far. It’s very sad that the vehicle itself has robbed my wife and me of “that great new car feeling”. I feel bad for the salesman that sold me the 300c as he had been working diligently on securing a 6.1 2006 charger for me, that plan is now on hold for the foreseeable future.

after chrysler gets involved they should get it right our ddealer is in the detroit area and we get the big wigs coming in all the time to see what we are doing to fix these typs of problems they got the know how they just have not got the word out to the right people..
i am glad to hear your still being nice to the dealership though thats rare now a days

Today they are replacing the steering column sensor again. If that does not rectify the problem they plan to replace the entire steering column. I can’t express how satisfied I am with the dealership and how dissatisfied I am with the product, in this case my brand new 300c that has 2k miles on it, 29 when new and most of the rest accumulated going back and forth for unsuccessful repairs.

I bought this car for my wife as a birthday gift and now the thought of it makes both of us sick to our stomach. I did not purchase a factory reconditioned or rebuilt car here, even if they could effect the required repair that’s exactly what I will be driving off the lot. Am I out of line in demanding another NEW 300c? Has anyone else had a similar situation?

I am very very surprise (and alittle discusted ) with this. 300c's are very reliable and its no good to hear of such bad luck! Good luck on getting it fixed.

Did you ever get the problem fixed? My father has a 300 Touring with the same problem. The dealer is supposed to be talking with Chysler's engineer. He had the same components as you replaced with NO success.

Read my problem under transmissions. After 6000 miles my trany went and I also have a 05 300C loaded except the sun roof which I did not want. This car cost me almost 40 grand and I requested a new trany, Chrysler puts it off to the dealer and the dealer decided to rebuild and assured me that the trany will be better than new. So far all is well. Lots of luck on your problem.
