300C done?
Hi all, New here I was really excited being a 300c w/hemi owner! But I have had the car 2 months and now the troubles begin. So I have a 08 300c hemi with 95,000 miles I bought it from a dealer. Ran and drove great plenty of power,comfort, etc. So I get a 306 code I changed the coil fastest and easiest thing to do,I'm injured from work so I cant do most of what I used to. So I did a hard reset,Ran fine for about 30 miles, Then misfire on 6 again. So I took it to a reliable shop,Thats still up in the air right now. I'm thinking 6 solenoid,So they check and say same thing I said change them all since they are in there. Okay now they are saying no codes just running like crap! So they changed the plugs in that cylinder,Now they are saying they will do more testing on Monday,But it maybe internal,Any idea,Thoughts.Comments,etc. thanks in advance for any helpful info. Not Happy @ all!

This won't make you any happier, but if your code was solely the P0306, then it is either ignition(plug or coil) injector or a "dead" cylinder(stuck valve,burnt valve,head gasket or other valvetrain malady). None of which anyone here can determine for you, and whoever does work to determine what is going on with #6 cylinder, with have to take off the intake manifold and probably valve cover over #6 to check out...time consuming and new gaskets required to do. Hope things start working out better for you and your ride SOON!

Thank you for your reply REBEL59, They replaced all of the MDS solenoids and plugs for that cylinder so far. Before when it first happened I replaced #6 coil and did a hard reset ran great no problems, Then it thru the code again. So I guess my question is if it was in valvetrain or internal why or how would it run fine in between throwing codes? They said no codes now just not running right! My hope is that they will find something they did wrong, Like maybe something loose or not connected right? After they replaced solenoids, i.e. intake manifold gasket, Something in the throttle body, bad connection etc! Isn't it strange now to have no codes? thanks in advance for any replies Mike

Update, Now they are saying lifter bad in that cylinder? Do you guys have any suggestions or have been through it? My thought is if you change 1 lifter if they could find one, What happens if another is bad or goes bad? And also what about the camshaft? So what do you guy and girls think is my best solution to the problem? Any and all replies are appreciated, The sooner the better! thank you Mike

Don't start over analyzing this. You have a high mileage engine. Using your logic, there is no end, short of a new power plant to what you should do. Fix the lifter and move on or that old engine will vacuum up your bank account in nothing flat.

Old or new engine definition, you have my take on it, The wholesale replacement of working parts based on
"worst fears" analysis is not how I would do it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it is the tried and true approach to "old engine/car" repair.. I hope you don't get a lesson you don't like.
In any case , lets hope for the best and do keep us posted on how it sorts out most particularly as concerns cost of parts and labor.
