adaptive cruise control

Our 2012 300C has had problems with the activation of cruise control (adaptive cruise control)- since new. Would take it to the dealer early on and of course it would always work while at the dealer. Have always been able to get it working but sometimes takes several pushes of the switch. I was wondering about changing the cruise control switches on the steering wheel. Our does have a heated steering wheel and looked like there are different switches depending on whether it is a heated steering wheel. Talked to a fellow who had his switches changed and the back light was different color than the old one. Also he had his changed at the dealer because he understood it had to be hooked up to the computer to make it work. I just changed the hands free module and it worked fine not being hooked up to a computer. Are these switches a problem and how hard would they be to change. Thanks for any information

Had my ACC switches Dealer changed at about 25k miles. No problem since. I doubt changing the sw cluster requires reprogramming but I really don't know what the tech did.
