AWD 300C Doesn't "Coast"
My wife's 2009 300C AWD 3.5l V6 doesn't seem to coast when the gas pedal is released. The car quickly decelerates as the engine speed decreases. The car will actually slow down as it goes down small hills with your foot off the gas pedal.
This is unlike any other automatic transmission car I've ever driven. Is it due to the AWD or is it a Chrysler/300 specific trait? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Paul |
yeah it would be from the AWD system more drag on the car

Thanks for the reply, is that additional drag there even if the car doesn't indicate that its operating in AWD mode (i.e. bare and dry roads)?

u are in AWD all the time there is no turning it off
|
OK - Thanks for the info
I thought it only went into AWD when it sensed it needed to and showed "AWD" on the instrument cluster. If there's added drag all the time that just might explain what I've been noticing... Paul |
what u are referring to would be traction control when one wheel is turning at a different rate then the other.
