Car will not start. 02, 300
 

I cannot start my 02, 300. The steering wheel does not lock when not started. I can put the key in, but I cannot turn it forward or backward, it will not turn. If you shake and move the steering wheel up and down, you may catch a turn and it will start. Do I need an ignition switch? Everything works on the car, lights, horn etc. once started no problem.

It was the ignition switch, not the starter. It cost 300 to replace it.
Again thanks. How many of you still have your original speakers and does all of them work
in your 300, 02.

Mindy... you do realize this isn't the right forum for the 300M model (AFAIK), but rather the "new" Chrysler 300, 300C and SRT8 models.

At least I'm assuming your question was in regard to a 200M since the "new" 300s first model year is 2005.

Anyway, that "might" explain the lack of answer you got. The other explanation seems to be that there's just not much activity in this forum, period.
