Default Chrome Plated Wheels

Just looking over my new 2006 300C with the chrome plated wheels. Looks like the chrome plating is just a layer of chrome plastic over the aluminum, if so I don't think the plastic will hold up well & in 6 months look bad.

Your 2006 300C is the RWD model, correct? The 18inch chrome wheels are infact chrome, or atleast that's what I believe. Chrysler wouldn't go that cheap on its buyers. Are there any signs of it coming off?

It seems it is chromed plastic like the chrome on the bumper. I just thought if that is the case debris from the road would scratch the plastic.

We have a 2005 300C when we brought it for the door handle problem we also had them look at all 4 wheels. The plating was coming off the outside rim area. Chrysler replaced all 4 wheels.
