Overheating when idling indicates there may be an issue with the fan. When stopped there is no airflow through the radiator which the fan provides. Does turning the ac on should also activate the fan? Note this is a 2-speed fan.
Hi my chrysler 300c 3.5 v6 2005 had same issue the main fan relay had blown and caused my car to overheat but I wasn't as lucky I blew a core/expansion plug at the rear of my engine a bugger to fix lost all my coolant in two minutes it was coming out as fast as I could pour it in
Start your car turn on your ac that should activate the fans on slow if they don't start check the relays and fuse if they work on slow but don't change to fast when the car heats up then its the high speed relay that has blown let me know if they don't work as I have a spare set of good fans I could send your way if needed
