Default Chrysler 300c srt8 part discontinued! What now?!?!?

Took my car to the shop and they confirmed my front control module needed replaced. Then they told me the part has been discontinued by Chrysler and they can't find a replacement either. I asked about getting a used one and they said it wouldn't work since it's a Vin specific part. So is my 300 srt8 done for good? I'm screwed outta my car just like that? This can't be correct or legal. Please help me!!!!

I feel your pain. A Chrysler dealership should have a tool that can re-flash a used front control module. In addition, there are a number of independent shops that will sell you a remanufactured one re-flashed to your VIN or even repair yours. There is one called Module Experts that you can access on the internet, but your shop should know of a local one. Any way you do it will not be cheap. Try searching and posting on the other forums like 300cforum.com or LXforums.com. You may find an answer there.

I'm not positive which part is the "front control module", but a few years ago I had an issue with a module on my wife's Durango that controlled door locks etc. It would randomly lock/unlock while driving or parked. I bought one off eBay, replaced it then had a locksmith reprogram the fobs. I'm not sure if this is similar situation but might be helpful.
