Clicking/ticking engine noise on 2010 Chrysler 300 touring 3.5l V6
2010 Chrysler 300 Touring 3.5l V6
62K miles with no major repairs performed normal driving I just noticed that the clicking/ ticking noise from my engine has increased after changing from Pennzoil semi-synthetic 10W-30 to valvoline conventional 10W-30. The frequency of the noise increases as I accelerate whether in park or while driving. I asked several technicians and mechanics and was told that it would make no difference to engine if swapping oil types. Has anyone else experienced this issue? |
Oil brand had nothing to do with this. The clicking noise was due to worn rocker arms shafts. Dealership replaced both rocker shaft assemblies under warranty. Clicking noise is now gone!

Glad to hear your dealer identified the ticking noise and resolved accordingly under warranty parameters. :D |
