manual transmissions?

Ok, so before I start. I have a 2003 Chrysler 300m. I'm looking at replacing the transmission with a manual. The problems... In the 300m the engine sits north south, and is front wheel drive. In short if can find a manual transmission to fit the current setup that would be best, another way is to sit the engine in transverse like... that would require redoing the whole engine bay. another option is to go rear wheel drive that would require redoing the back end and not to menchion trying to find a way to reroute the exhaust so the drive line would fit. so Trying to find a front wheel drive manual transmission that would bolt up to a north south engine would be best. any thoughts????
I was also thinking of trying to turbo it or using the supper of a crossfire. this is to come but later...

RE: manual transmissions?

Good Luck...Big job! I did it on a 5.0 Mustang, but much easier than what you're doing. Don't under-estimate the electronics implications of the switch. Also, the pedal assembly deal was much more involed than I expected.

Good luck & post pixs!
