Need some advice on 2 yr old 300 C
About a month ago my car showed a check engine light. I brought my almost 2yr old Chrysler 300C to a dealer service department. I was told that the wrong oil was put in the car. And the system needed to be flushed and the throttle needed to be cleaned. When I explained only a Chrysler dealership has serviced this car, I was told that stuff happens. So I have a few questions:
1. Does it take 3 months for the car to know that the wrong oil was put in the car? 2. Does having the wrong oil put in the car cause problems to the throttle? 3. Does having the wrong oil put in the car cause any problems other than downshifting becomes a problem? ebee |
In your owners manual it will say that 5w 20 is only to be used in the car and yes it can tell if its wrong or not.

Thanks. But my problem is how long does it take for the car to register that the wrong oil was used. Only Chrysler service depts replaced the oil. And I trustbtheybknow what oil to use. And the car didn't register a problem for 3 months. Does that make sense. It doesn't to me.
