Shifter moves different than display
 

I just bought used year 2007 Chrysler 300 base model from private party. today from when returning from HomeDepot, I moved the shifter to reverse, but the display showed as still parked. then moved shifter to neutral and drive, the display showed reverse. when I moved the shifter to L, then display showed Drive[D]. it felt like the display is correct and there is something went wrong with shifter, so I have to move back and forth before the display and shifter are aligned. is this an easy DIY fix, or I need to take it to dealer?
